Recycling Letter
Mr. Nieratko's Class
Today is: Tuesday,06 January,2009 08:06:48 AM

Our students have completed their latest writing assignment - Persuasive Letter writing. They decided to compose a formal letter persuading Mr. Joseph to consider forming a Recycling Club that would begin to address the school's need for a comprehensive recycling program.

This club would be responsible for:  obtaining appropriate collection bins, setting up and maintaining collection areas throughout the school, educating students and faculty, and coordinating efforts to bring sorted recycling items to local recycling centers for redemption.  They decided to post the letters on this web page rather than print them, in an effort to reduce paper use.  You may click on a students name to the left to read their letter.

The students are eager to help the environment and their world by reusing, reducing, and recycling the materials they use in school each day.  They are not only concerned about reducing waste, but reducing financial resources as well.  They are researching information and facts about recycling, as well as how other school districts have implemented successful recycling programs.

Below are some websites that we are using to help us with our research.
