Thank you Lauren G. for submitting a "How-To" piece, detailing the steps necessary to ride a bike!  Riding a bike is something we all enjoy doing, especially in the summer.

Hope everyone is having a great summer!

As promised, I will be posting writing prompts for students.  If students are interested, they can submit an essay (of any length) or poem by emailing them to me.

I will post a new prompt each week and leave them all up on this page.

I will post all submissions to this page.   Students can submit a writing piece for any prompt at anytime during the summer.

Prompt #4
The end of summer means...

Prompt #3
One rainy day during summer vacation...

Prompt #2
Today I discovered...

Prompt #1

Sitting on the crisp warm grass, I paused to make sure I noticed ever sound and movement that made this the perfect day.  My only objective was to use all my senses to pay attention to things I normally ignore .

That's it!  You complete the rest.  If you have to, go sit outside (if the weather's nice) and quietly observe everything around you.  Take notes.  Brainstorm.  Plan.  Organize.  Draft.  Edit.  Revise.  Don't forget to use all the strategies we learned this year.

Then email me what you have.  If you don't have Microsoft Word, you can type directly into email.  I look forward to your essay or poem.
