It has been an exciting first few days at school. I have enjoyed beginning to get to know the children. The children are getting to know the new routines. Please make sure that your child has his or her name on their lunch box and backpack. At lunchtime the children who are buying a hot lunch need to type in their number on a key pad, then get their lunch. It is much easier for them to have money in their account than to try to hold onto their money while they are choosing their food. If you would like, you can send in a check made out to Attleboro School
Lunch for a larger amount and your child's lunch for the day will be automatically deducted from the money that is in their account.

First graders are often very anxious the first few weeks of school because there is so much to learn. They will also be very tired by Friday after the first full week of school. Please be assured that this is to be expected and the children will build up their stamina in a week or two. We will be celebrating our first full week with cookies on Friday.
We are in the midst of learning the routines and reviewing letters and sounds. Please read the little take-home books with your children that I will be sending home, and work on knowing the "words to learn".
